Moving on to Tumblr

After two or so years on blogger I have decided to call it a day and move onto Tumblr.

I recently graduated and I felt the need for a change to coincide with my transition into post university life as a freelance illustrator/designer.

This blog will be a memory of my progression as an artist throughout my time at university.

Thanks for ever checking up on this.

Keep up to date on my:

from

This geometric pattern is taken from one of my pieces, it is the backing to a design but is still satisfying as a stand alone image.

hands

Another of many images I have been making recently.
This particular piece focuses on the story (again from Sack's book- see previous post) 'Hands';  About a lady who is unable to use her hands, a result of over nurturing due to her cerebral palsy. She is also blind and I wanted to portray this sense of isolation from the world, the vast grey, but slightly tainted background is aimed at this aspect.

lost mariner

An Illustration idea for the case of the Lost Mariner; taken from Oliver Sack's book, 'The Man Who Mistook his Wife for a Hat.'
The Lost Mariner is an elder man, who's mind is trapped in his youth as a submariner.

Beryl

An abstract collage created as part of my project on health. The image was formed from experimentation with a photograph of my grandmother.

hearts

This was another design created during my current project about the heart. The shapes you see are extracted from drawings of the organ itself and have been manipulated and angled to create an abstract pattern.

72

An image formed whilst working on a project about the heart; the 72 refers to the average number of times a heart beats per minute.

I was working on some self-promotional pieces to send out, here is an experimental image of some examples layered on top of one another.
